NOTIFICATION PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2 SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT ON CHANGES OF HOLDINGS IN MARIMEKKO CORPORATION

Pursuant to Chapter 2 Section 10 of the Securities Market Act, Marimekko        
Corporation (business identity code 0111316-2) hereby notifies of the receipt of
a notification, whereby, following share transactions concluded earlier today,  
the holding of Muotitila Ltd (business identity code 2150336-0), a company      
controlled by Mr. Mika Ihamuotila, has exceeded 1/10 of the share capital and   
voting rights of Marimekko Corporation, i.e. increased to 13%.                  

Furthermore, Muotitila Ltd has notified that it has today agreed with Workidea  
Oy on a right to acquire the remaining shares in Marimekko Corporation held by  
Workidea Oy (totalling 804,000 shares) at any time prior to the end of the year 
2008. If Muotitila Ltd uses its right to acquire, its holding of the shares and 
voting rights of Marimekko Corporation will exceed 1/5.                         

Muotitila Ltd has further notified that, in connection with the above agreement,
Workidea Oy has as of today authorised Muotitila Ltd to use the voting rights   
attached to the shares covered by the agreement in ordinary matters handled by  
general meetings of shareholders. Based on this authorisation, Muotitila Ltd's  
holding of the votes of Marimekko Corporation has today exceeded 1/5. The       
authorisation will be automatically cancelled if Muotitila Ltd has not used its 
right to acquire the shares by the end of the year 2008.                        

Pursuant to the notification the holding of Muotitila Ltd of the share capital  
and voting rights of Marimekko Corporation (following today's share transactions
and agreement) is as follows:

Mika Ihamuotila does not own any other shares in Marimekko Corporation (either  
directly or indirectly).                                                        

The registered share capital of Marimekko Corporation is EUR 8,040,000          
consisting of 8,040,000 shares, each with one (1) vote.
