Talanx anticipates a good result in 2007

Hannover, 12 December 2007
Despite difficult market conditions and a multitude of internal structural activities, the Talanx Group is looking to a successful 2007 financial year with a significantly higher result. Group CEO Herbert K. Haas noted: "The Group can be entirely satisfied with this performance: despite numerous internal, time-consuming projects our staff have always kept a very close eye on the market. That is a superb achievement!" Based on gross premium income on a par with the previous year (€ 19.4 billion), the Group should be able to boost its operating profit (EBIT) by 9.9 % to € 1.4 (1.3) billion. The progress made with the Group's structural development is also most gratifying. In addition to the Gerling integration, which is moving forward as planned, the Group achieved another milestone in its Bancassurance division in 2007: the acquisition of BHW Leben, BHW Pensionskasse and the remaining 50 percent of the shares of PB Versicherungen from Postbank AG as well as the extension of the sales cooperation for a further 15 years until 2022 will ensure that Talanx enjoys a good platform in the promising distribution channel of bancassurance.
