Today, BinckBank N.V. closed the acquisition of Alex Beleggersbank ("Alex") from Coöperatieve Raiffeisen-Boerenleenbank B.A. All the conditions precedent for the closing of the acquisition have been fulfilled.
The acquisition has been financed with the proceeds of the rights issue, amounting to € 385 million and existing cash resources. The rights issue was successfully closed on 14 December 2007.
As a result of the acquisition of Alex the volume of transactions will increase, consequently higher taxable profits may be applied to the unused tax losses in Belgium. The positive effect of the tax credit amounts to approximately € 4 million in 2007
