First Solar Hires Kathy Weiss as Vice President, Government Relations


PHOENIX, Jan. 24, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- First Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq:FSLR) announced the appointment of Kathy Weiss as vice president, government relations, based in New York, NY. In this new position, Weiss is responsible for overseeing the development and advocacy of First Solar's public policy positions and will manage First Solar's state and federal affairs activities. Ms. Weiss will report to John Gaffney, executive vice president and general counsel.

Most recently, Weiss served as vice president, government and public affairs for Centex. She earned a M.P.S from the Graduate School of Political Management and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
