FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 4, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Enthusiastic indie-rock band AUDIOCRASH is releasing its debut, full-length artist album, Time Sensitive Material (Dirty Garage Records), on March 15th at SXSW. The band's sound is composed of infectious, highly memorable tunes and catchy hooks with a serious sentiment behind the lighthearted lyrics. The first single from the album, "Everyday," has lit-up the blogosphere with debate over whether it's a political song railing against an unjust war. One viewing of the song's music video might suggest the affirmative, if not for the band's insistence that the song is simply about strife and the daily sacrifices people make in order to get home to the ones they love.
Formed in 2006 and founded by current band-members, Craig Maseratti and Guy Strzepek, AUDIOCRASH infuses the intense and urgent music of Maseratti's melodies with Strzepek's plaintive and passionate phrasing, creating a powerful mix.
Maseratti's recording credits on Time Sensitive Material include: singer/songwriter, acoustic and bass guitar, percussion, keyboards, and co-producer. Formerly of the locally popular 1980's and '90's Florida rock bands, The Stand and The 11th Hour, Maseratti is as passionate about his band's performance as he's ever been. "Sometimes a melody will haunt me for days before I can perfect it in the studio, and other times, it just kills on the first try. Music is an obsession for me; it's not a half-ass hobby," he says. Strzepek's credits include: lyricist, lead and backing vocals, and co-producer. His past stints have comprised fronting the band, The Numbskulls (aka The Swampcorpse), which held the distinction as being one of Europe's pioneering "psycho-billy" acts of the late-1980's. After completing a tour-of-duty for the U.S. Army, Strzepek returned Stateside and played in the alt-rock bands, Love Smells Like Love and Julius U, into the mid-1990's. Says Strzepek, "We just have this great chemistry together, whether we're performing live or locked in the studio. It helps to genuinely like the other guys in the band, and I'm in this for the long-haul!"
Other band-members include: bass-player, Keith Rose -- at whose Liquid Ghost Studios in Boca Raton the album was recorded and mastered; guitarist, keyboard player and percussionist, Cliff Wallach (from the band Inhouse); and drummer, Nick Roy (from the band Red Alert). With their inaugural presence at 2008's SXSW and a steady eye on the future, the members of AUDIOCRASH are geared-up for greatness....and there ain't no stoppin' now!
