VMS Processes One Millionth Unpaid Parking Violation for the U.S. Auto Rental Industry
| Source: Violation Management Services
NASHVILLE, TN--(Marketwire - March 4, 2008) - Violation Management Services, Inc. ("VMS"),
the leading provider of parking and traffic violation processing services
to the North American auto and truck rental industries, recently
administered, on behalf of one of its rental company clients, its one
millionth unpaid parking violation incurred by a rental customer. Unpaid
parking violations of rental consumers is an extremely serious problem to
the $30 billion global vehicle rental industry, costing it tens of millions
of dollars a year in fines, fees, and processing costs. This does not
include customer service issues associated with rental companies attempting
to collect on unpaid violations from their own rental customers.
VMS, founded in 1991 in Basking Ridge, NJ, provides a technology based,
turn-key solution to the hassle, costs, and customer service issues
associated with this industry-wide problem. "The lost profit to rental
companies as a result of customer parking violations quickly caught my
attention when I entered the industry as a rental manager in 1989," says
Dennis Round, President of VMS. "I made it my business to understand and
become expert in the processes and systems used by the multitude of issuing
authorities (municipalities) across the country. The launching of VMS 17
years ago as a specialized service firm was the natural evolution of my
unique expertise, and today our entire organization is extremely proud of
the milestone recently achieved."
According to Neil Abrams, President of Abrams Consulting Group, Inc., a
leading rental industry consultancy, "Every now and then, over our 25
years in business, we see a product or service introduction that brings
great value to both rental companies, and their customers. VMS, through
its proprietary business model, offers its rental company clients a
solution to a significant industry problem that is both cost effective and
customer relations sensitive. VMS benefits rental customers by limiting
their accruing liability and financial obligation to the issuing
authorities associated with their unpaid violations."
VMS's growth and success, especially in this past decade, and the
achievement of the one million threshold, is indicative of the trend in the
auto rental industry to outsource non-core business functions to
specialized companies, such as VMS, which use best-in-class practices to
conduct utility services.
