Uniboard files U.S. suit against Unilin
Uniboard requests U.S. court to invalidate Unilin's mechanically locking
joint patents
Laval, March 5, 2008 Uniboard Canada Inc. today announced that it has
initiated a non-infringement and invalidity suit against the Dutch company
Unilin Beheer, B.V., in the District of Columbia, USA, in which it requests
the court to declare Unilin's U.S. Patents for mechanically locking joints
invalid and not infringed by Uniboard.
Uniboard and Unilin have for a while discussed the scope of Unilins
patents, but the negotiations have not lead anywhere. Since Uniboard is
convinced that Unilins patents are invalid and also not infringed by
Uniboard it has found it necessary to take this action to protect its
commercial rights.
