WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - March 25, 2008) - The international law firm Jones Day today
announced that Robert Naeve and Steven Zadravecz, two veteran labor and
employment attorneys, have joined the firm's Labor & Employment Practice --
winners of the 2008 American Lawyer Labor & Employment Department of the
Year -- as partners in the Irvine office.
Both lawyers come to Jones Day from the Irvine office of Morrison &
Foerster, where they were partners. Mr. Naeve was chair of the Orange
County-based Labor and Employment Law Department and Mr. Zadravecz was a
senior member of that practice group. The new additions to Jones Day will
launch the Labor & Employment practice in the firm's Irvine office with the
assistance of several associates who will also be coming to Jones Day from
Morrison & Foerster.
Jones Day's Irvine office now consists of more than 40 attorneys, a nearly
100% increase in size since January 2007, and comes on the heels of the
addition of prominent securities lawyers Eric Landau and Shawn Harpen, who
joined the firm as partners in January after leaving the Irvine office of
McDermott Will & Emery.
"The addition of these two premier labor and employment litigators to our
partnership at Jones Day, and our Irvine office in particular, is a clear
sign that the firm continues to attract the best legal talent in Orange
County," said Richard Grabowski, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day's Irvine
office. "The firm's commitment to the growth of our California practice --
and Orange County in particular -- will undoubtedly result in additional
growth for our office in the coming year."
Mr. Naeve's practice focuses on complex civil litigation with particular
expertise in a number of substantive areas, including unfair competition
litigation involving allegations of theft of trade secrets, wrongful
solicitation of employees, breach of duty of loyalty, and enforcement of
pre- and post-term non-competition agreements. Mr. Naeve is also deeply
involved in program and facilities access litigation filed under Titles II
and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, California's Unruh Civil
Rights Act and Blind and Disabled Persons Act, and various other federal
and state laws, regulations and building codes. In addition, Mr. Naeve
represents employers in all aspects of employment litigation, and has acted
as lead trial counsel in over 30 wage-and-hour class actions challenging
the employment practices of employers in the retail, banking, food service,
and high-tech industries, and has handled innumerable wrongful termination,
employment discrimination, invasion of privacy, and other related claims.
Mr. Naeve earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern
California and his law degree from Stanford University Law School.
Mr. Zadravecz represents employers in all aspects of employment law,
including actions in state and federal court and before administrative
agencies involving employment discrimination claims, wrongful discharge and
retaliation claims, wage and hour class actions, actions involving trade
secrets and employee raiding, and matters relating to unfair competition
claims. He frequently lectures to employer and management groups and
conducts in-house workshops regarding compliance with California and
federal employment laws. Mr. Zadravecz earned his undergraduate degree
from the University of San Diego and his law degree from the University of
San Diego School of Law.
These two recent arrivals follow a series of lateral partner additions
throughout the firm's California offices to bolster its presence in the
state:
-- Brette Simon joined as partner in the Los Angeles office -- from
Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton -- in February (Private Equity);

from McDermott Will & Emery -- in January (Securities and Shareholder
Litigation);
