AtHoc's Net-Centric Emergency Notification Solution Integrated Into the Newly Launched Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security That Serves the Government Sector

AtHoc IWSAlerts to Serve as the IP-Based Mass Notification Solution Within the New Cisco Platform

BURLINGAME, CA--(Marketwire - April 1, 2008) - AtHoc, Inc., the pioneer and leader in network-centric emergency notification systems, today announced that AtHoc IWSAlerts™ will be included as part of the new Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security, a technology platform designed to enable government agencies to protect employees, citizens and assets via a secure, intelligent, converged network.

Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security incorporates a variety of Cisco and partners' technologies into a common architecture. It includes Cisco Unified Communications, Cisco Video Surveillance Manager, Cisco's IP Interoperability and Collaboration System (IPICS), AtHoc IWSAlerts for IP-based mass notification, as well as other technologies for sensor integration and management and video analytics. All of the technologies are enabled over a converged IP infrastructure and provide interoperability using industry open standards.

AtHoc will work within the platform as the IP-based enterprise mass notification solution. When emergency situations are activated, whether manually by emergency operators, or automatically by security sensors, AtHoc IWSAlerts will manage the mass notification process from alert activation to recipient tracking and reporting. With its unified alert management capabilities, it will leverage the IP-network and Cisco infrastructure to deliver targeted and personalized alerts to personnel via computer desktops, mobile devices, telephones, public address systems as well as any other IP-enabled notification device. Alerts can be delivered to thousands of personnel across all communication channels within minutes.

"We are pleased to be working with AtHoc as part of our go-to-market team for the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security," said Bruce Klein, Cisco's federal vice president. "Our strategy is to pull together an 'ecosystem' of the leading companies with expertise in protecting citizens, employees and critical assets to provide the most comprehensive solution for facilitating collaboration for government agencies. AtHoc delivers a critical piece of our overall technology platform."

AtHoc IWSAlerts has been deployed to protect more than one million personnel throughout the government to date. Within the DoD alone, AtHoc's net-centric emergency notification system is accessible from more than 70% of all Air Force bases. It is also the network-centric emergency alerting standard of the U.S. Navy under its Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) program, aimed at protecting all Navy facilities worldwide. The system is currently being deployed to 400,000 Navy personnel across multiple regions. AtHoc IWSAlerts is also deployed at numerous federal civilian agencies, state and local public sector organizations and major commercial organizations.

"Cisco's approach to converged communications perfectly aligns with our view of the role IP technology can play in helping people prepare for and react to emergencies," said Guy Miasnik, president and CEO for AtHoc. "The IP network is playing a transformative role in the physical security world. Not only is it the fastest and most interoperable platform for disseminating emergency alerts within large distributed organizations, it also offers the most personalized and targeted messaging capabilities -- all while removing the physical constraints associated with traditional alerting systems. We're excited to be a part of the Cisco Open Platform for Safety and Security."
