Airspan Showcases Innovative WiMAX Product Suite for the US Market at CTIA
Demonstrates Industry Leading Advanced Capabilities for Fixed and Mobile WiMAX in 2.3, 2.5, and 3.65 GHz
| Source: Airspan Networks Inc.
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - April 1, 2008) - Airspan Networks Inc. (NASDAQ : AIRN ), a
leading provider of WiMAX-based broadband wireless access networks, is
showing a full suite of products at CTIA designed for the US broadband
wireless market. Airspan's field-proven products for the recently
allocated 3.65 GHz band and new innovations in Mobile WiMAX for the 2.3 GHz
and 2.5 GHz bands add to its existing 700-MHz and unlicensed products,
making Airspan the leader in broadband wireless solutions for the US
market.
"Customers have been very impressed with the 3.65 GHz solution, and they're
glad to be working with field-proven equipment," commented Amit Ancikovsky,
Airspan's Vice President and General Manager, Americas. "We're now adding
our Mobile WiMAX solution for the 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz bands to that
success. This is the same technology that was chosen for the KDDI/UQ
Communications deployment in Japan and that adds enormous credibility."
Chad Pralle, Vice President of Marketing for Airspan, added, "From rural
carriers considering the 3.65 GHz band, to tier-1 mobile networks in 2.3
GHz and 2.5 GHz, Airspan is now delivering products that have significant
advantages over the competition. We are laser-focused on reducing the cost
of deploying and operating a network. Airspan enables carriers to deploy
fewer high power, high capacity base stations reducing operational costs,
especially expensive backhaul and power costs. WiMAX has always been
promoted as a low-cost network and, more than anyone, Airspan is delivering
on that promise."
Airspan has recently introduced to the US Market products in the 3.65 GHz
band, with unique features of this solution providing significant range and
link stability. For 2.3 GHz and 2.5 GHz Mobile WiMAX networks, Airspan
recently introduced the MacroMAXe base station, developed in collaboration
with Fujitsu. MacroMAXe has the highest transmit power and capacity and
the smallest physical footprint of any base station available for macro
deployments.
Rounding out the offering is the award winning quad-band MiMAX USB
subscriber device, which enables users to roam across all the WiMAX bands
enabling carriers to deploy overlay networks and establish roaming
agreements, for example, between regional carriers using 3.65 GHz and
national carriers at 2.3 GHz or 2.5 GHz.
Airspan will be showcasing all these products at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las
Vegas beginning April 1, 2008 at Booth #5475.
