BELMONT, CA--(Marketwire - April 2, 2008) - FaceTime
Communications, the leader in security, compliance and management for
the new Internet, today announced it has appointed Vincent Schiavo as
senior vice president, worldwide sales. Schiavo joins FaceTime from Secure
Computing, where he was senior vice president of worldwide sales and led
the company's growth from $36 million to more than $300 million per year
during his six-and-a-half-year tenure.
Reporting to FaceTime chief executive officer Kailash Ambwani, Schiavo will
be responsible for expanding FaceTime's worldwide sales reach, including
aggressive channel sales activities for the mid-market, as well as
increasing visibility within the large enterprise market for securing the
real-time Internet.
FaceTime's
secure Web gateway and instant message security products allow
enterprises to enable a variety of real-time communications and Web 2.0
applications safely for their employees, including public IM, enterprise IM,
Skype, social networking and unified
communications.
"Vince brings a powerful combination of start-up experience and a wealth of
knowledge in the Web security space," said Ambwani. "Welcoming Vince to our
team, I'm confident that he will have an immediate impact on our worldwide
sales and channel activities and will be invaluable in helping grow the
company to the next stage."
"Drawing from my experience with large customers' efforts to secure their
enterprises, I know that management and control in the world of Web 2.0
requires much more than traditional e-mail spam and URL filters," said
Schiavo. "I'm exited to join FaceTime's team on the leading edge of Web
security, enabling companies to embrace and enable the safe use of social
networking, instant messaging, and unified communications in the
enterprise."
Prior to Secure Computing, Schiavo was president of PolyServe, a startup
pioneer in the virtualization space, which was sold to Hewlett-Packard
Corp. in 2007 for more than $200 million. He also has served as vice
president of sales at Sonic Solutions, and in various sales roles with
Apple Computer and Data General. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer
science from the University of Maryland.
