SkyRecon Supports Windows Server 2008 and Microsoft Network Access Protection (NAP) Agents

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - April 9, 2008) - (RSA Conference #951) - A contributing
member of Microsoft's SecureIT Alliance, SkyRecon Systems
(www.skyrecon.com), a provider of endpoint security solutions, today
announced support for Windows Server 2008 and the native NAP platform that
is built into Microsoft's new operating system Windows Server 2008, Windows
Vista™, and Windows® XP Service Pack 3.
"Network Access Protection is one of the most desired and highly
anticipated features of Windows Server 2008," said Ravy Truchot, SkyRecon
Systems CEO. "If a client attempts to log onto the network without
following policy, NAP will automatically bring the client back into
compliance and then dynamically increase its level of network access. Our
customers will be thrilled with this new development as it brings peace of
mind to their security concerns."
Founded in Paris five years ago with U.S. headquarters in San Jose, CA,
SkyRecon will be showing Version 5.1 of its multi-layered system and data
protection solution, StormShield, in Booth #951 in the Microsoft Partner
Pavilion at RSA, San Francisco.
SkyRecon's StormShield solution protects businesses from the real threats
of data leakage, data theft, system misuse, unauthorized access, and
zero-day attacks.
SkyRecon's flagship product StormShield offers integrated system and data
protection layers in a single lightweight agent and single management
console. Using only a few megabytes of memory footprint, StormShield's
behavioral-based endpoint protection solution features integrated device
control, data encryption, application control, host-based intrusion
prevention (HIPS), system firewall, wireless security, and Network Access
Control (NAC) -- a fraction of the size compared to other similar products
in the market. Its agent provides zero-day protection without the need for
signature or rule updates.
Network Access Protection (NAP) is Microsoft's new network access control
platform and solution that controls access to network resources based on a
client computer's identity and state of compliance within corporate policy.
NAP allows network administrators to define granular levels of network
access based on who is attempting to log in, including checks against the
groups to which the client belongs, and the degree to which that client is
compliant.
The integration between StormShield and NAP provides IT infrastructure
protection by preventing network access to unsecured endpoints by enforcing
network security policy, by blocking unauthorized user operations and
malicious application execution at the endpoint, and by enforcing endpoint
policy even when the client is not connected. NAP and StormShield work
hand-in-hand to remediate the client policy exceptions to bring it back
into a compliant state before granting secure network access.
