Witness This Intense Treasure Hunt -- New Book Follows the Struggles of People Trying Hard to Find Treasure Worth $7 Million

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C., April 14, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The lure of high stakes pulls mightily on people's personal temptations and the desire to get rich. This is the theme that drives a fast-moving hunt for a lost historical "treasure", as imagined by author Richard H. Berg as Xlibris releases his new book, The Dutchman's Gold.

At stake in the story is $7 million in gold certificates that belonged to legendary gangster Dutch Schultz, missing for sixty years but hidden somewhere. Several groups with varying interests go after the treasure, including starving actors, a hulking zydeco fiddler, the Russian and Italian mobs, and a serial assassin known as The Black Prince. Who will find the lost millions first, and which particular individual will benefit the most? Read the book to find out.

As Kirkus Discovery Reviews put it: . "At times echoing the laugh-out-loud observational and dialogue skills of Jimmy Breslin or Dan Jenkins, Berg pushes several on-target buttons in this modestly structured thriller. ... A worthy first comic thriller from a funny and confident writer."
