SafeAuto Insurance Named Corporate Caring Award Finalist

Company Recognized for Its Commitment to Central Ohio Community

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwire - April 16, 2008) - SafeAuto Insurance Company was named as a finalist for the 2008 Corporate Caring Award, given by Business First of Columbus. The annual Corporate Caring Award is presented to select local companies who exemplify corporate caring through board leadership, employee volunteer hours, philanthropic donations and commitment to the central Ohio community.

"We are honored to be among some of the most well-respected companies and organizations in all of central Ohio who were named as finalists for this award," Jon Diamond, president of SafeAuto said. "Giving back is important to us and our associates. It's not just our responsibility, but also our privilege. We are humbled that we could make a difference in the lives of children and their families living in central Ohio."

Honorees were selected based on the size of the corporation and by the following categories: Education, Arts & Humanities, Environmental & Civic and Health & Human Services. SafeAuto joined nearly a dozen Columbus, Ohio companies in the "large company" category that included Boehringer Ingelheim Roxane, Inc., Fifth Third Bank, Huntington National Bank, Limited Brands, Messer Construction Co., METTLER TOLEDO, Mount Carmel Health System, National City, OhioHealth, Panera Bread and Safelite AutoGlass.

SafeAuto, a company that offers state required insurance coverage to an underserved market, was nominated for its many powerful and effective charitable initiatives. One of the most prominent annual programs is the company's Columbus Holiday Giving Initiative. In 2007, Nationwide Children's Hospital became the focus of this initiative. SafeAuto, in partnership with "The Laptop Guy," donated 10 reconditioned laptop computers for use in the Family Resource Center at Children's Hospital. The Family Resource Center provides a home away from home for families that have children in a long-term care situation. These laptops will assist in helping families e-mail their friends, log in to work, pay their bills online, etc.

SafeAuto also purchased a "distraction center," a portable machine that provides sensory stimulation to help children channel or eliminate pain, and created the "SafeAuto Relief Center." Children and their families can use the machine and relief center to alleviate some of the pain they are feeling.

Throughout 2007, SafeAuto Insurance Company contributed and sponsored many charitable organizations including: the Rick Fry Memorial, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Adventures for Wish Kids, United Negro College Fund, Circle of Friends, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation of Central Ohio and the Alzheimer's Association. SafeAuto also sponsored an employee bowl-a-thon to raise money for the South Side Learning Center. The company's efforts aided in raising part of the nearly $10,000 in total contributions. SafeAuto takes pride in being an annual contributor to the Boys and Girls Club of Williamsburg County, the Lions Club of Johnsonville/Hemingway Area and the Monroe County Agricultural Society and Extension Offices.
