Notification of voting rights pursuant to § 21 para. 1 WpHG 

April 2008

Barclays Global Investors UK Holdings Limited, London, UK, informed us
according to section 21, paragraph 1 of the German Securities Trading Act
that as of March 31, 2008 they have gone below the threshold of 10% of the
voting rights in LANXESS AG and hold 9.95% of the voting rights. This
corresponds to 8,278,690 voting rights.
These voting rights are in their entirety attributable to Barclays Global
Investors UK Holdings Limited pursuant to § 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 in
connection with § 22 para. 1 sent. 2 WpHG.
