Hexagon deliver complete storage system to the first hydrogen driven canal boat in the Netherlands.

Hexagon daughter company Raufoss fuel Systems (Raufoss) is now at the final stage of an approval process for new products to cover the European demand for storage of compressed hydrogen within the transport sector.

The Dutch HyTruck consortium was the first to order deliveries of the new products, and the first hydrogen driven cargo truck from HyTruck is now going to be upgraded with a storage system from Raufoss's new product line. The same products will be used in Raufoss's modularized storage system for hydrogen buses. These systems are very flexible with respect to storage capacity, and can be adapted to suit all sizes of buses.

The new products are also marketed for marine applications, and Marine Service Noord B.V in the Netherlands has recently ordered the development and delivery of a complete hydrogen storage system for a hydrogen driven canal boat in Amsterdam. This will be the first canal boat in Amsterdam without any harmful emissions.

Raufoss is also supplier of complete hydrogen storage systems for the Norwegian TH!NK-vehicles, and to StatoilHydro's project for establishing Fuelling stations from Stavanger to Oslo as part of the HyNor program.

The interest for Raufoss's new products is increasing, and Raufoss expects further orders during 2008.
