Tyson and Alpha Kappa Alpha Provide Leadership Training for Undergraduate Students


SPRINGDALE, Ark., May 22, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN) and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., (AKA) America's first Black women's Greek-letter organization, are once again partnering to provide leadership training for some of America's best and brightest minority female college students.

This week Tyson is hosting 19 undergraduate AKA members from various U.S. colleges and universities as part of the organization's 2008 Leadership Fellows Program sponsored by Tyson. In addition to presentations by Tyson executives, the program includes training in such areas as communications, conflict resolution, team-building and problem-solving. Students are also required to develop and present a case study on various business related scenarios.

Cathy Clark-Johnson, Vice President of Employment Compliance for Tyson Foods and a member of AKA, has been instrumental in facilitating the partnership, which began in 2001.
