IT – Delay in Cash Markets opening on Tuesday, June 3 (50/08)

On Tuesday June 3, trading members experienced disturbances in the cash market system. The problems occurred during the log-on session. Problems also occurred during the Monday morning log-on session.  Actions taken after Monday’s system disturbances did not solve the problems and re-occurred on Tuesday.  

At 8:38 CET, it was decided that the opening of the markets in Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen was going to be postponed 30 minutes. 

Troubleshooting continued and at 9:18 CET it was decided to further postpone the opening until 12:00 CET.

The system problems were still unsolved and it was decided to further postpone the opening until 13:30 CET.

The problem was identified and with further postponement the cash markets opened at 14:30 CET.
  
The cause of the problem was in the log-on process when interacting between the operating system, the network and the software.

We have taken actions to prevent it from happening again.
