About the Author
Patricia Squires is a teacher, poet, composer, enthusiast, and story maker. For her, "Life is a space in time to be enjoyed," especially when we are in the process of using our own talents to bring to reality our uniqueness and creativity. She believes that each person has the potential of a genius hidden inside just waiting to be shown to the world. Her experiences with children from infants to those in Grade One have proven her belief in this Philosophy of Teaching. The author has allowed children the freedom to use their talents in her fifty-five years of teaching in a formal classroom. While fulfilling the curriculum formulated by the educational system, she tried to nurture, guide, encourage, praise and enhance the lives of the little ones under her tender care. The books that she has long wanted to be in the hearts and minds of the public are now happening for her. Some of the children that Ms. Squires taught way back in 1954 up to the present day have experienced the wonder and fun of learning with others. She too has learned from them. There was no high-powered technology involved. They just enjoyed a wonderful time and learned so many skills in Reading, Math, Health, Science, and Social Attitudes. The author hopes that readers will enjoy this story and many other creative enrichments for their lives soon to appear in bookstores and on the internet. Being seventy-two has not stopped Ms. Squires yet and she doesn't believe that age will be a challenge for her. Anyone who knows the author can assure you of that statement. Be on the lookout for the next adventures of the children she has encountered. You will enjoy every moment of their imaginings. Squires' other books include Enter Here and One Room Schoolhouse in Jersey City.
