Net Insight for an upgrade of its national intra-city fiber backbone
network
Cablenet is a privately owned telecommunications provider in Cyprus
offering triple play services (cable video, telephony and data)
across the island. To remain ahead of the competition and to raise
the bar in the quality and capacity of the services they offer,
Cablenet decided to upgrade their core network with Net Insight's
Nimbra platform.
The new network will carry high-speed data and telephony traffic
between all Cablenet's main point-of-presence in 4 cities and
consists of Nimbra 360 units working over an STM-16 core ring
aggregating STM-1 data and E1 telephony services. The solution also
required the integration of third party optical transceiver modules
(SFPs) to perform very long haul distribution of error free STM-16
core traffic over hops longer than 100km throughout Cyprus."By selecting Net Insight's solution for our core transport network,
