Grasbrunn / Munich, June 27, 2008: Wirecard AG has taken extensive measures
against the short selling attacks, obviously orchestrated out of London and
Frankfurt. Furthermore, steps have been initiated against those who have
intentionally spread false statements in order to trigger the decline of
the share price.

According to their own statement, the German regulatory authority (BaFin)
is investigating potential manipulations of the stock market at the expense
of Wirecard AG and its shareholders. As a result of the ongoing
investigations, all trades of the past weeks will be analyzed in detail.
The regulatory authority obtains all data on sales activities, which will
be subject to investigations.

'Obviously, Wirecard AG is the target of an orchestrated short sale attack
of several hedge funds. We assume that the Association for the Protection
of Small Shareholders (SdK) has been a party to the promotion of respective
rumors', says Dr. Markus Braun – CEO of Wirecard AG – 'those attacks have
caused damages to our shareholders in a three digit million amount within
one day. We feel obliged towards our shareholders to fully investigate the
circumstances and pursue all claims under civil and criminal law aspects
with full force against the beneficiaries and originators. Prof. Dr.
Möllers – a leading expert in capital markets law – has assured his full
legal support. We invite all shareholders to join our actions.'

Klaus Rehnig, the former chairman of Wirecard´s supervisory board, who has
resigned last Tuesday due to personal reasons, has already refuted all
rumors and allegations on misleading accounting statements against Wirecard
and the reasons for his resignation. 'I have resigned amicably and have not
sold any Wirecard shares.' says Klaus Rehnig via a news agency. During this
week’s annual shareholders meeting, Mr Rehnig has still represented
approximately six percent of the company´s shares outstanding.

Wirecard AG cannot confirm any rumors about being a target of a potential
take over.
