Company Announcement to the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority
No. 33-2008, 8 July 2008
FLSmidth has signed a contract worth over EUR 95m (DKK 708m) with
ASEC Algeria Cement Company (AACC) to supply two new production lines
each with a capacity of 4,500 tonnes per day. The two production
lines will form a greenfield plant near the town of Djelfa, nearly
300 km south of the capital of Algiers. AACC is owned by the Egyptian
company ASEC Cement Holding with whom FLSmidth has signed two
contracts with in recent years.
The contract includes the supply of all machines for the new 3
million tonnes per year cement plant. FLSmidth will supply two EV
crushers, two ATOX raw mills, raw material stores, two complete ILC
three-support kilns including preheaters and SF Cross-Bar coolers and
three UMS cement mills.
In addition, the supply also comprises gear units for the five mills,
six complete packing lines and a quality control system."Historically, FLSmidth has a strong position in the Algerian cement
market. Since the early 1980s, FLSmidth has supplied all the cement
kilns installed in Algeria. With the awarding of this contract the
total number of cement kilns installed reaches ten," Group Chief
Executive Officer Jørgen Huno Rasmussen comments.
The order will contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until
the plant is commissioned in 2011.
