LOVELAND, Colo., July 24, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Prosci, the global leader in research and development of leadership tools for managing the people side of change, announced its 2008 Managers' 1-Day Coaching Course. This course is designed to help managers effectively lead their employees through change.
Employees look to their managers and supervisors for direction and support in times of change. "Best Practices research shows that employees want to hear about how a change in their organization will affect them from their direct manager or supervisor," said Tim Creasey, Director of Research and Development at Prosci. "They trust their manager most to inform them of the change, provide the 'what's in it for me' and help them navigate through the transition."
Prosci's 1-Day Coaching Course addresses the steps managers and supervisors must take when faced with change, including: understanding the changes underway and their role, adapting to change, developing competencies for managing change, introducing change to their employees, managing employees through the transition and reinforcing and celebrating successes. "Managers must be fully onboard with a change before they can successfully lead their employees through the change," stated Adrienne Boyd, Prosci's Chief Operating Officer. "This course provides them with the tools necessary to understand and adapt to the change themselves, become great change leaders and then help their employees through the same process."
The course consists of a three-phased approach with pre-requisite work, in class work and post-course follow-up work. The pre-requisite work includes the gathering of data on the change projects going on in the manager's organization from the employees; the class work includes forming an intensive coaching plan from that collected data; and the post-course work includes reinforcing the change and celebrating successes.
