Münster, August 12, 2008 United Labels AG (ISIN: DE 0005489561), a
company specialising in comicware sold under licence, achieved consolidated
revenue growth of 2.5% in the first six months of 2008, taking this figure
to EUR 19.2 million (prev. year: EUR 18.7 million). At the same time, EBIT
improved to EUR 0.3 million (prev. year: EUR 0.2 million).
Revenue growth was attributable mainly to positive developments within the
Key Account segment.
In this segment Group revenue increased by 5.8% to EUR 13.1 million (prev.
year: EUR 12.4 million), while earnings rose by 4.7% to EUR 2.0 million
(prev. year: EUR 1.9 million).
Sales revenue generated by House of Trends europe GmbH, a new subsidiary
established in August 2007, amounted to EUR 0.8 million.
The Special Retail segment recorded sales revenue of EUR 6.1 million in the
first six months (prev. year: EUR 6.3 million), while earnings in this
segment stood at EUR 0.3 million (prev. year: EUR 0.5 million).
Business also developed favourably for the foreign subsidiaries based in
Belgium and Italy.
While sales revenue in Belgium rose by 18% to EUR 1.8 million, Italy was
able to propel revenue by 30% to EUR 0.8 million.
