On the 1st of September the Supervisory Council of AS Tallinna Vesi shall hold a meeting in order to appoint Ian Plenderleith as the new CEO of the water company as of 1 October 2008. Upon the approval of the Supervisory Council, Ian Plenderleith shall take over the CEO's role from Roch Chéroux, who has been managing the water company since July 2006 and will become a senior managing director within UU international division as of 1 October 2008. „My time in AS Tallinna Vesi has been extremely interesting and full of challenges. When I joined the Company early 2002, it was in a very different condition. Since then we have achieved outstanding results. The quality of drinking water and wastewater treatment have been raised to European Standard levels and the ratings of the customer satisfaction survey place us among the top 10% of world utilities. All of this would not have been possible without the fantastic team, with whom I have had the honour to work with for the last six and a half years,” Roch Chéroux said. „It was a difficult decision to make because I really love the country, the Company and the Team I'm working with, and I have invested a lot of time and energy to turn around the Company. But in a career, it is natural to move on to the next level, and new challenges from time to time, “ he added. During the years 2004 - 2007 Ian Plenderleith (44) held the position of the Financial Director of AS Tallinna Vesi, also being a member of the Management Board. In March this year he was appointed as a member of the Supervisory Council of the Company. “I am very glad that Ian has accepted this new challenge. His previous work experience and knowledge of the Company shall provide the continuity that is essential for developing the Company further,” Chéroux stated. Ian Plenderleith had an important role as the Financial Director of AS Tallinna Vesi in developing the Company, helping to implement the necessary changes that enabled its listing on the Tallinn Stock Exchange in June 2005. In addition to managing the Financial Division, his area of responsibility also included Customer Services. Ian Plenderleith's work experience includes over 14 years in the utilities' sector both in the UK and other countries, holding several positions related to finance and customer services. Ian Plenderleith said that as the CEO of the Company he intends to continue the current business strategy of the Company that has proved successful during the past years, ”AS Tallinna Vesi prides itself on the quality of the services it provides to the citizens of Tallinn. I believe that through the dedication of the staff of the Company and a consistent business strategy we will be able to keep improving the world class services that we deliver today, whilst growing the activities of the Company further,” he added.
