About MHB

MHB is a unique Montreal based, Biotechnology Company that uses plants, grown in cell culture, to discover, develop and produce new diverse plant products of interest to the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and nutraceutical industries. The science of growing plants in cell culture, called Phytomics, is a new and exciting field in biotechnology. Phytomics can be considered "Green Chemistry". Since it often takes years for plants to come to maturity, or to the point where their metabolites can be harvested, the ability to achieve a production of specific metabolites in a matter of months at a high yield is an important advantage of Phytomics. Phytomics also removes the effects of climate, terrain, weather and seasonality on horticultural production, which are limitations for many field grown medicinal plants. Once an ideal cell line has been identified, it can be grown indefinitely and at any scale.
