Sify Uses Narus Solution to Achieve Critical Certification in India

This certificate was awarded based on Sify's demonstrated use of the NarusInsight™ Intercept Suite (NIS), and is required for Sify to offer international long-distance service to its customers.

The explosive growth of IP-based data services worldwide has prompted lawmakers to expand existing wiretap laws to cover new modes of communications that leverage IP, such as VoIP and e-mail. As India has one of the world's fastest growing telecommunications markets, the Indian government has recognized a responsibility to put in place its own lawful intercept regulations. The certificate was issued after the two companies demonstrated to the Indian authorized Law Enforcement Agencies that Sify met the functional requirements of IPLC-LIMS.
