Terso Solutions Selects Impinj Speedway(R) Readers and Antennas for UHF Gen 2 RFID-Enabled Medical Cabinet

RFID Solution Provides Global Access and Visibility for High-Value Inventory Monitoring System

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - September 4, 2008) - Leading UHF Gen 2 radio-frequency identification (RFID) solutions provider Impinj, Inc. today announced a partnership with Terso Solutions, Inc. under which Impinj will provide Speedway® readers and antennas for Terso Solutions' innovative RFID-enabled medical cabinets to support management of valuable inventory directly at the point-of-use. Terso Solutions will demonstrate and offer a preview of their new offering inside Impinj's booth (201) at the upcoming RFID World 2008 tradeshow.

Following a robust RFP process, Terso selected Impinj's technology to power their cabinets. "After a rigorous examination of several options and potential partners, we feel that Impinj has the best offering of products and value-added services on a worldwide basis," said Joe Pleshek, director of business development for Terso Solutions. "Impinj's deep technical expertise and customer-centric approach has allowed us to respond to the demands of our customers and effectively integrate UHF Gen 2 capabilities into our product portfolio."

Terso and Impinj worked closely over the past 6 months to develop a UHF Gen 2 based application, which responds to customers' needs with a global solution that provides low cost, ease of use and quick time-to-market. "Working with Terso Solutions has been an absolute pleasure," said Brad Johnson, senior sales director for Impinj. "Terso's ability to respond to the market quickly and effectively makes them an ideal fit for the burgeoning RFID industry -- their forward-thinking nature allows them to be a leader in the inventory management segment."

The compact storage system (44"H x 24"W x and 22"D) combines RFID, secure access control, and network connectivity to provide item-level supply-chain management for highly valuable goods, such as biological samples, cardiovascular products, reagents, Class II pharmaceuticals and specimens.

Since users and manufacturers of high-value goods frequently lose inventory control and visibility shortly before point-of-use, RFID-enabled cabinets can deliver the significant competitive advantages of increased security and decreased costs by collecting and transmitting usage data back to clients worldwide.
