SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - September 10, 2008) - CTIA -- Droplet Technology, an innovator
in mobile video applications and services, today announced the debut of
their new real-time VideoShare service platform. Working closely with
leading service providers worldwide, Droplet has integrated
state-of-the-art all-software video and voice codec technologies with an
industry-standard IMS framework, enabling for the first time 2-way
peer-to-peer video sharing with synchronized voice on a broad range of 2.5G
and 3G handsets. Droplet has further extended real-time video sharing
capabilities via a common software client architecture for mobile handset
and PC platforms, providing a converged user experience and enhancing
interoperability across multiple devices, operating systems, and networks.
Droplet's all-software mobile video client application also supports
VideoShare service deployments via client download to both handsets and
PCs.
"Droplet enables users to share with each other exactly what they see, at
the moment they see it, from their mobile devices or PCs, opening up a vast
range of new possibilities for communications, social networking,
entertainment, and business collaboration," said John Ralston, President
and CEO of Droplet Technology. "We are extremely excited to debut this
powerful new VideoShare platform at CTIA, and to showcase Droplet's ability
to help mobile operators, Internet portals, and device/service providers
enhance the performance and profitability of their mobile video offerings."
Droplet's all-software VideoShare client leverages the company's unique and
patented innovations in low-complexity video processing and video
communications. These same technology breakthroughs are also incorporated
into Droplet's mobile video server applications, significantly reducing the
cost and complexity required to deploy additional video sharing service
enhancements, including:
-- one-to-many and many-to-many VideoShare
-- video upload and real-time streaming to web portals
-- automated multimedia mash-ups for enhanced video messaging and user-
generated content services.
