SANTA BARBARA, CA--(Marketwire - September 10, 2008) - El Capitan Canyon, nature
lodging just north of Santa Barbara on the Pacific coast, announces the
opening of the Safari
Cabin Suite, its newest accommodation, a private two-bedroom retreat
with ocean and mountain views. To mark the event, now through December, El
Capitan Canyon invites guests to stay in the new suite with a special
two-night introductory
package.
"We are really pleased to offer the Safari Cabin Suite: it is our largest
and most luxurious accommodation yet," said Terri Bowman, general manager
at El Capitan Canyon. "Guests will enjoy its spacious rooms, hill-top
privacy and unbeatable views. Guests that have already stayed in the new
cabin suite have raved about the experience!"
The new suite is designed in a contemporary rustic style similar to the
Canyon's original cabins, yet it is more spacious, private and set on a
gentle hillside, offering vistas that span the Pacific Ocean and the Santa
Ynez Mountains. The master bedroom boasts a king bed, vaulted ceilings,
fireplace, ample closet space, vanity and separate entry. The second
bedroom, located upstairs in a raised loft area, has a full bed, airy
skylight and large windows for a birds-eye vantage. A spacious bathroom,
often sun-filled from a large skylight, offers double sinks, stone tile
shower and access to a charming Canyon style wooden outdoor shower. The
living room, decorated in earth tones with comfortable seating, captures
views with floor-to-ceiling windows. A second fireplace anchors the room
and French doors open to an expansive terrace overlooking the ocean.
The designer kitchen features a stainless steel gas range, microwave,
full-sized refrigerator, cookware and dishware, coffeemaker with
complimentary coffee, pantry and generous granite countertops. Outside on
the wraparound deck sits a gourmet gas barbeque grill and prep area
complete with BBQ tools. The outdoor dining area and fire pit with lounger
chairs set the scene for watching a California sunset or taking in a
starlit night.
The cabin is stocked with other amenities such as lush terry robes, wine
glasses, and cozy duvets. Guests can phone the Canyon in advance of arrival
and have the kitchen pre-stocked with delectables from the Canyon Market, such
as the popular Happy Camper wines, gourmet foods, juices and much more.
To celebrate the opening of its signature suite, El Capitan Canyon is
offering a two-night introductory package, available through Dec. 30, 2008.
The offer includes two nights' accommodations, a chilled bottle of
champagne on arrival, two 55-minute Canyon Classic massages in the privacy
of the suite and gourmet chocolate chip cookies. The package is $1,695
based on double occupancy, subject to availability, excluding holidays, and
does not include taxes or gratuities.
The suite can sleep up to four people and the standard rate is $795 per
night. The reservation deposit is a single night rate, and a 72-hour
cancellation notice applies.
When guests are ready to venture down from their hilltop retreat, they can
enjoy many of the Canyon's activities. Guests are welcome to participate in
any of the Canyon's complimentary activities, including hiking the
expansive trail system adjacent to the Canyon, feeding a herd of llamas --
a longtime fixture at the Canyon, sea-side rides on beach cruiser bikes and
stargazing. Through October, El Capitan Canyon hosts a popular Saturday
night concert and barbecue series that attracts guests and locals alike.
Canyon staff can plan an array of day trips, such as horseback riding, wine
tasting, golf, ocean kayaking, Monarch butterfly park tours, whale watching
and tours of Santa Barbara.
