On September 19, 2008, the shares of Saku Õlletehase AS are listed in Tallinn stock exchange for the last day. Saku Õlletehase AS thanks all investors who have belonged to the circle of shareholders throughout the years and by this showed its trust towards the oldest brewery in Estonia and earned to its capital a significant profit. Saku Õlletehase AS has also been one of the best dividend payers and by this earned profit to investors throughout the years. On September 19, 194.06 EEK per one share will be transferred to the minor shareholders of Saku Õlletehase AS. On the same day all shares which were previously in the ownership of minority shareholders of Saku will be transferred to Carslberg Estonia HOlding OÜ. Saku Õlletehase is glad that the company has had the chance to operate for 12 years as a public company, being the market leader of Estonian beer market, won the title of Best Food Industry in Estonia, belonged to the 5 most prestigious Estonian companies and provided its consumers with best products. With belonging to Carlsberg group, Saku Õlletehase AS will also from now on be one part of public stock exchange company. The mother-company Carslberg AS shares have been issues in Copenhagen Stock Exchange. Saku Õlletehas will continue to follow the principles of honest and open business enterprise, will hold an open attitude towards its consumers, clients and cooperation partners as well as to the wider publicity. The predecessor of Saku Õlletehase was the brewery established by Karl Friedric von Rihbinder in Saku manor in 1820. Also the fact that on September 18, Saku Õlletehase AS won the first price in category Most Competitive Food and Beverage Industry in Estonia, indicates the ability of Saku Õlletehase to be on the top of Estonian best companys' ranking from now on. Saku has been a significant company in Estonian share market by raising the generation of investors after the ragain of independence in Estonia. Saku Õlletehase AS shares were issued in Tallinn Securities market for the first time in August 12, 1996 and in additional list of stock exchange in January 27, 1998. During the privatization process in 1995, many people had the opportunity to buy Saku Shares for the privatization vouchers, whereas price for one share was 25 privatisation vouchers for one share. At that time, privatisation voucher cost was 17 cents, i.e. 4.25 EEK per share. During this 12 years, Saku share has been constantly growing, by reaching the peak in 2007, when the price per one share was 278.35 EEK. When becoming the stock exchange company, Saku Õlletehase AS had in addition to the main shareholder - Baltic Beverages Holding AB- more than 8000 minor shareholders out of which approximately 4000 minor shareholders remained stable investors. The leaving of Saku Õlletehase AS from the stock exchange is related to the acquisition of the main international beverage companies in which the ownercompany Carlsberg and its competitor Heineken divided the Scottish and Newcastle. As a result of this Carlsberg became the sole owner of Saku Õlletehase AS with 75% of shares and by law it became compulsory for Carlsberg to make an acquisition offer to all other minor shareholders of Saku. Since 70% of the minor shareholders of decided to sell their shares to Carlsberg within the acquisition offer, Carlsberg became to own 92.4% of Saku shares. After this Carlsberg decided to acquire the remaining shares for the compensation of 194.06 EEK per one share, and de-list the shares of Saku Õlletehase AS from Tallinna Stock Exchange.
