| Source: Law Enforcement Associates
RALEIGH, NC--(Marketwire - September 22, 2008) - Law Enforcement Associates Corporation (LEA)
(AMEX : AID ), the largest U.S. developer and manufacturer of undercover
surveillance equipment, today announced it has received a $1.4 million
order from the U.S. Census Bureau. The products associated with the order,
which were not identified for reasons of confidentiality, are expected to
ship during the fourth quarter.
"Our sales team has worked to expand our presence within sectors that are
beyond our core law enforcement market," said Marty Perry, director of
sales. "This order from the U.S. Census Bureau is representative of the
success we have had at entering non-traditional end markets."
"Our ability to address this order was made possible in part by our status
as a GSA approved supplier, a key competitive advantage for LEA," said Paul
Feldman, president. "This order, combined with our third quarter shipment
of a $723,000 UVIS Swift order from the state of New Jersey and a host of
other significant contract opportunities give us enthusiasm about our
prospects for solid financial results during the balance of the year."
