Lysaker, 24 September 2008 Nord Pool has received the following information from the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE): Low inflow to Norwegian reservoirs Norwegian inflow was 1.2 TWh, or less than half of the normal level, in week 38. The overall Norwegian reservoir level dropped by 1.5 percentage points throughout the week. The reservoir level is now 83.3 percent, which is 4.5 percentage points below the normal level. Low inflow levels and dry weather forecasts contributed to a rise in Nordic electricity prices. Spot prices at the Nordic power exchange rose in all areas. The weekly average was 52.5 øre/kWh in southern Norway. This is the highest weekly spot price since august 2006.
