ROK's streamed mobile TV service provided to leading Indian mobile operator BSNL is currently being promoted via SMS to 800,000 potential BSNL subscribers in the Western region of India. The service, Tiny TV, is charged at Rs 150 per month (approximately $3.25 per month) and offers a suite of channels to include local music, videos, news and movie content as well as live international news. BSNL's Northern, Eastern and Southern regions will conduct similar promotional pushes beginning in November before the Tiny TV is promoted in a national advertising campaign beginning in December.
Also in India, ROK announces its 20-store retail trial of 'In-Store Loader' has been so successful it will be rolled-out to more than 1,000 retail stores across India in the next 6 -12 months. ROK's In-Store Loader enables people to browse and buy music, videos and movies for storage on the memory card of their mobile phones.
In addition, Blubox, the data-compression subsidiary of ROK, has launched PowerPressed Photo, designed to instantly create digital photo albums in Portable Document Format (PDF). PowerPressed Photo compresses PDF files by up to 95% without any loss of quality and is fully compatible with all current Microsoft operating systems. Furthermore, ROK's Finland-based mobile applications developer, Geniem, has announced it has signed the first client for ROK Promoter. ROK Promoter, launched earlier this month, enables advertisers themselves to initiate, manage and control Bluetooth marketing campaigns to mobile phones. The first client for ROK Promoter will target visitors to the Paris Motor Show in October with relevant marketing content.
