MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - October 2, 2008) - Alternet Systems, Inc. (
OTCBB:
ALYI) recently
hosted a Technical Trade Mission to China to survey the largest operations
in the world that have deployed E-Ticketing solutions for mass
transportation, utilities and municipal services. The trade mission was a
pivotal step in Alternet's advance toward rolling out its first wireless
E-Ticketing solutions into the Latin American market.
Hear Alternet CEO Henryk Dabrowski discuss the Company's wireless
E-Ticketing solution and the Company's progress toward $24 million 2009
revenue goal:

The trade mission wrapped up on September 28th and included visits to
Beijing, Tianjin, Zhongtong, Hangzhou and Shanghai. Alternet's Chief
Technology Officer, Manfred Koroschetz, and representatives from Alternet's
partner TCPS (Tianjin IC Card Public Network system CO. LTD), hosted
delegates from the Guatemalan Private Association of Bus Owners to survey
the operating E-Ticketing solutions in each city. These solutions are all
hosted and operated on the TCPS solution that Alternet is proposing to the
Municipality of the City of Guatemala for their mass transportation
services. The system has been used successfully throughout China to provide
prepaid E-Ticketing that customers can use to pay for a variety of
municipal services, not the least of which is mass transportation.
The guests included board members from the Private Association of Bus
Owners and two technical advisors, both with experience in prepaid fare
collection systems and bus technology. The delegates were very impressed
with the scope and quality of operations, as well as the experience and
professionalism of the mass transportation systems in China. Upon their
return to Guatemala, a final report on the Trade Mission will be presented
to the Private Association of Bus Owners for Board of Directors
consideration. As an outcome of the Trade Mission, Alternet expects to
sign a Letter of Intent and subsequent contract with the Private
Association of Bus Owners and to finalize a contract with the Municipality
of the City of Guatemala.
Alternet Systems and Transtech Sino America
Earlier this year, Alternet Systems, in partnership with TCPS, formed
Transtech Sino America. Within the partnership Alternet provides business
development, resource sourcing, logistics and legal support while TCPS
provides capital, technology and substantial public transportation
management experience. Headquartered in Miami, with offices in Guatemala,
Colombia, El Salvador, Peru and Mexico, Transtech provides turn-key fleet
transportation management solutions, including the sale of busses
manufactured in China and sold into the Latin American market, smart card
e-payment solutions, alternative fuel solutions and carbon credits.
Additionally, Transtech will provide financing for new transportation
fleets. Financing is crucial for many municipalities that are obligated to
maintain up-to-date, reliable public transportation due to heavy dependency
on public transportation among residents.
