EnergySolutions Announces $19,000,000 Remedial Stewardship Contract

SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(Marketwire - October 7, 2008) - EnergySolutions, Inc. (NYSE : ES )
announced today its major role in the clean up of the Asarco Federated
Metal Superfund Site in Houston, Texas. EnergySolutions has responsibility
for soil remediation at the 20-year old site pursuant to a $19,000,000
contract with Environmental Liability Transfer, Inc. which acquired the
site from the Asarco bankruptcy estate.

formulating a comprehensive plan and assembling a team to remediate this

EnergySolutions' remediation activities under its Master Services Agreement
with Environmental Liability Transfers, LLC, started this past week.
