Thomas Schiff's "Vegas 360°" Photo Exhibition Opens October 25 at Las Vegas Art Museum

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - October 14, 2008) - "Vegas 360°," the latest
panoramic book by Cincinnati photographer Thomas Schiff, will debut with an
exhibition of photos from the book at the Las Vegas Art Museum from October
25 through November 30. A grand opening reception for the book and the
exhibition will be held at the Museum on Friday, October 24 from 5-7 p.m.
The book, which includes 77 panoramic photos of the Las Vegas skyline and
iconic architecture, will be released to coincide with the opening of the
exhibition, featuring 20 photographs from the book.
Photographs included in the book range from a panoramic sunrise over the
Strip, to the Fremont Street area, to lobbies and pool areas of a number of
hotels, to the Neon Museum "Boneyard" of unrestored historic Vegas signage.
Since 1994 Mr. Schiff has worked with a Hulcherama 360° panoramic camera,
traveling the United States in search of inspiring subjects. Today, his
work resides in a number of permanent collections and historical societies.
His photographs also have been exhibited in galleries and museums both
nationally and internationally.
Mr. Schiff has previously published three books showcasing his full-color,
panoramic photographs: "Panoramic Cincinnati" (1999, published by
Lightborne Publications in conjunction with the Wellness Community),
"Panoramic Ohio" (2002, published by the Cincinnati Art Museum) and
"Panoramic Parks" (2005, published by the Cincinnati Parks Board). Mr.
Schiff also is working on a panoramic book of Frank Lloyd Wright houses, as
well as on the architecture of Columbus, Indiana, U.S.-based religious
sites and vintage movie theaters.
The book, "Vegas 360°,"
features an introduction by art critic Dave Hickey and essays from David
Surratt, A.D. Hopkins, Douglas Unger, Kim Thomas, Phil Hagen, Benedetta
Pignatelli and Matthew O'Brien. Proceeds from the sale of the book benefit
the Las Vegas Art Museum.
