ANAHEIM HILLS, Calif., Oct. 14, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced the success of 'An Evening Under the Stars' an event hosted by I Padrini d'Antonello on Sunday, October 5, 2008. The event took place outside Antonello Ristorante and netted more than $130,000.
"Canyon Acres is very grateful to this year's sponsors and individual donors, whose contributions provide critical support for Canyon Acres' children," said Clete Menke, President of Canyon Acres. "This year's event carried on a strong tradition of great food, great company, and a common goal to provide safety, hope and love to the children who need it most."
An Evening Under the Stars was co-chaired by Canyon Acres board members Erin Lastinger and Windell Stout. More than 230 guests enjoyed Antonello's renowned wines and cuisine in the restaurant's sprawling garden, and they danced to the tunes of the Frank Wright Band.
In addition, the inaugural Shining Star award was presented to Lula Halfacre, owner of Traditional Jewelers and a longtime friend of children. Ms. Halfacre accepted the award from S. Paul Musco, member of I Padrini and a Canyon Acres board member. For more than ten years, Lula and Traditional Jewelers have generously given of their time and finances to support I Padrini in its endeavor to help children in need in Orange County.
Event Gold Sponsors included S. Paul Musco of Gemini Industries and Patrick Dirk of Troy Group, Inc. Silver Sponsors included the A. Gary Anderson Family Foundation, California Sunset Escrow and Commerce West Bank. Coast Magazine was the media sponsor. The live auction featured a trip to Italy, which sold for $10,000, and several specially engraved bottles of wine.
