JetBlue's West Coast Focus City Expands: Now Serving 14 Destinations From Long Beach, California

Long Beach to San Francisco Flights Start This Weekend

LONG BEACH, Calif., Oct. 16, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Customer-focused JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU) this weekend expands its West Coast route network with the launch of daily nonstop service between L.A.'s Long Beach Airport and San Francisco International Airport. Two daily flights to SFO begin Saturday while a third daily flight kicks off November 2. With its added service to the Bay Area, JetBlue now offers the convenience of nonstop flights to 14 destinations from its West Coast focus city at hassle-free Long Beach Airport, ideally located between Los Angeles and Orange County.

"JetBlue's growth at Long Beach is a win-win for our airline and the community, which now enjoys high-quality, low cost air service to its most popular destinations both up and down the West Coast and across the nation," said Dave Barger, JetBlue's CEO. "With quick access from the 405, and gates conveniently located mere steps from the curb, Long Beach Airport is a breeze for travelers. On behalf of the more than 500 local JetBlue crewmembers who make their livelihood from our operations in Long Beach, we thank the community for their ongoing support of our growing Long Beach-based route network."

"JetBlue has again created a connection between two of California's world-class cities," said Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster. "JetBlue continues to listen to their customers and develop additional options to popular destinations from Southern California within their current service levels at the Long Beach Airport."

Last week JetBlue began nonstop flights from Long Beach to Portland, Ore., and earlier this year added new routes to Austin, Texas; San Jose, Calif.; and Seattle. JetBlue also offers daily flights from Long Beach to Boston; Chicago (O'Hare); Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Las Vegas; New York (JFK); Oakland, Calif; Sacramento, Calif.; Salt Lake City; and Washington (Dulles). All JetBlue flights from Long Beach are operated with a quiet, fuel-efficient and young fleet of Airbus and Embraer aircraft.
