PHOENIX, Oct. 23, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AESP is pleased to announce that its President and CEO Meg Matt has been added to the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency's Leadership Group as an Observer. The Action Plan brings together utilities, regulators, customers and others to explore ways to increase energy efficiency in the United States.

The Action Plan was developed by more than 60 organizations that came together to create a sustainable, aggressive national commitment to energy efficiency through gas and electric utilities, utility regulators, and partner organizations. Since December 2005, the Leadership Group and Observers of the Action Plan have offered their professional expertise and contributed to the development of the Action Plan.
Meg Matt has served as President and CEO of AESP for the past three years. Under her leadership, the association has grown to over 1400 members and has seen attendance at its conferences increase by over 30%.
