Notification of the Supervisory Board of WestLB AG

At the regular meeting of the Supervisory Board today, the Managing Board
presented its ideas concerning measures under the Financial Markets
Stabilization Act (FMStG).
The Supervisory Board of WestLB supports the intention of the Managing
Board to secure the Bank´s planned borrowing for 2008 and 2009 by utilizing
SoFFin guarantees and to file an application under § 6 FMStG. The
Supervisory Board also instructed the Managing Board to examine the
possibilities under the new law for strengthening the capital resources of
the Bank and to prepare relevant measures in the short term.
For this purpose the Managing Board will shortly begin talks with SoFFin.
