SAMPO PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE November 5, 2008 at 12.35 pm KARI STADIGH NOMINATED AS NEW GROUP CEO FOR SAMPO GROUP AS OF 8 APRIL 2009 In accordance with the plan announced on 15 April 2008, Sampo's Board of Directors has today nominated Kari Stadigh as Group CEO and President of Sampo Group to succeed the present Group CEO and President Björn Wahlroos, who is to become Chairman of the Board. Kari Stadigh will start in his new role after the Annual General Meeting of 7 April 2009. Kari Stadigh has worked for Sampo Group since 1998 and was nominated as Group Deputy CEO in 2001. Stadigh has been Chairman of the Board of Mandatum Life and Kaleva Mutual Insurance Company since 2001 and Chairman of the Board of If P&C Insurance since 2002.
