SAN MATEO, CA--(Marketwire - November 13, 2008) - TeraRecon, Inc. (www.terarecon.com), a leader
in advanced image processing technology and 3D visualization solutions,
today announced the extension of the company's successful collaborative
partnership with the American College of Radiology (ACR) in its quest to
provide "next generation" learning of emerging technologies in its state of
the art Education Center.
TeraRecon was a pioneering partner in the ACR Education Center initiative
in November 2007, and has since participated in twelve courses including
Coronary CT Angiography, CT Colonography and most recently the
ACR-Dartmouth PET/CT course. With the extension of this partnership, the
company will also participate in future courses on MR Breast imaging.
Robert Taylor, Ph.D., president and COO of TeraRecon, states, "The ACR
program is truly unique and visionary in its scope and depth, and hence, we
saw this as an unprecedented opportunity to provide attendees with access
to our innovative cutting-edge solutions in a highly structured and
well-conceived educational setting that will enable imaging professionals
to obtain optimal understanding and skills in the beneficial use of this
technology."
TeraRecon has supplied the ACR Education center with a comprehensive suite
of robust clinical applications that are seamlessly installed on the ACR's
existing computers. Each attendee is provided with their own TeraRecon
software interface during the course. The proprietary ACR Case Engine
provides an unparalleled repository of cases which are readily accessible
from the TeraRecon software for interpretation, with instant interpretation
feedback. TeraRecon also provides expert clinical support for the courses,
to ensure that the excellent ACR faculty and staff support can make this a
fulfilling, unique and comprehensive learning experience.
"The ACR is pleased to have TeraRecon among the 11 vendors providing
workstations and advanced clinical applications in the ACR Education
Center. Radiologists from all over the world are coming to the Center and
can be confident that they can receive the most cutting-edge education
available on the system that they utilize in their home practice," said
James H. Thrall, M.D., chair of the American College of Radiology Board of
Chancellors. "Having TeraRecon among the platforms helps ensure that this
educational experience is unique in the radiology profession and is of
great benefit to radiologists and their patients."
TeraRecon fully supports the mission of the ACR Education Center to provide
"next-generation" learning for radiologists incorporating emerging imaging
technologies, state-of-the-art tools and equipment, and a customized
teaching approach focused on the participant. At the ACR Education Center,
each participant benefits from a low ratio of participants to instructors,
and sophisticated technologies, developed specifically for radiologists who
want to remain at the forefront of the profession.
"We remain steadfast in our collaborative partnership with the ACR and
congratulate them on their continued success," says Dr. Taylor.
