PARSIPPANY, N.J., Dec. 11, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- GenTek Inc. (Nasdaq:GETI) today announced the retirement of George "Greg" Gilbert, Vice President and General Manager of its wholly owned subsidiary, GT Technologies, effective December 26, 2008.

Upon Mr. Gilbert's retirement, GT Technologies senior management and business operations will report directly to Mr. Redmond on a permanent basis. Mr. Gilbert has agreed to provide advisory services as needed during 2009 to the company.
