COMPTEL TO START PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS FOR REDUCING COSTS

COMPTEL CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 8 JANUARY 2009 AT 14.15 PM

Comptel Corporation has today convened a meeting of the employee
representatives in Finland for statutory personnel negotiations to address the
possible reduction of personnel. The company estimates that the possible need
for reduction applies to 50 persons at the maximum in Finland. The negotiations
will start in January 2009 and are estimated to be completed during March 2009.

Comptel Corporation has also requested its subsidiaries in Norway and United
Kingdom to take actions for reducing cost. Both subsidiaries will make any
decisions regarding the downsizing under the local legal requirements and
collective agreements.

In total, the Group aims at reaching annual cost savings of approximately EUR 7
million. For 2009 the company estimates cost savings of approximately EUR 2
million after one-off items.

These measures are based on the earlier announced financial performance of the
Comptel Group. In accordance with Comptel Corporation's stock exchange release
of 26 November 2008, the growth of net sales and profitability in 2008 will
remain lower than earlier expected. With the actions now started and with a
reorganisation, the company aims at ensuring the Group's long-term
profitability and competitiveness.
