ROHNERT PARK, CA--(Marketwire - January 15, 2009) - Red Condor, the award-winning provider of
fully managed email security solutions, today announced that its Message Assurance
Gateway (MAG) appliance has won the 2009 Technology of the Year Award
from InfoWorld magazine. The InfoWorld awards, which are given annually to
the best hardware and software products evaluated by InfoWorld's Test
Center, were announced on January 13, 2008. Red Condor's MAG device was
recognized in the Networking and Security category for the best anti-spam
appliance.
"Given the competitive nature of the email security marketplace and the
number of products reviewed each year by InfoWorld, we couldn't be happier
to stand above the crowd and receive this award," said Dr. Thomas Steding,
president and CEO of Red
Condor. "Since 2007, more than 12,000 businesses, colleges, and service
providers with over 2 million end-users have started to use our technology;
more than 85 percent of them switching from well-known industry
competitors. Our growth and this industry recognition are compliments to
the entire Red Condor team and are major steps in helping get the
visibility our solutions merit."
The Technology of the Year award was supported by a
review by Roger Grimes, security advisor at InfoWorld. In his October 2008
review, he stated that the Red Condor MAG appliance was "easily the lowest
maintenance of any anti-spam filter I've reviewed." Grimes also wrote, "The
MAG 2000's anti-spam rate was so accurate that I called Red Condor to see
if they were manually inspecting my mail to make sure the rates were highly
accurate for the review. The office thought I was crazy. And I guess that
pretty much sums up the MAG 2000's anti-spam effectiveness. It was so good
I was accusing the vendor of cheating."
Red Condor's anti-spam appliances provide enterprise-level email security for small to
medium-sized businesses, universities, and Internet service providers. The
company helps reduce customers' operating costs by delivering hands-off,
easy-to-use, and fully managed products. The MAG anti-spam appliances also
provide resiliency and redundancy with Red Condor's hybrid Vx
Technology, which leverages in-the-cloud computing for load sharing,
disaster recovery and fail-safe operation.
Steding added, "Our focus has always been on delivering the most
cost-effective and accurate anti-spam appliances and hosted services in the
industry. Our results, customer feedback and retention, as well as the
InfoWorld review and award, continue to validate our efforts."
