ROK Launches Mobile Developer Challenge

ROK Invites Developers to Submit Innovative Mobile Applications -- Financial Support Available

LONDON, Jan. 20, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ROK Entertainment Group Inc., the mobile applications, technologies and services company, has launched ROK Developer Challenge (www.rokdeveloperchallenge.com) with an open invitation to developers around the world to submit their ideas with a view to partnering with ROK on the commercial deployment of the best and most innovative new applications received.

ROK (www.rokent.com) has amassed a suite of revenue-generating mobile applications and services, from high-quality on-demand streamed TV, content stored on and played from memory cards, mobile VoIP technologies, mobile social networking solutions and push email services which it licenses to mobile operators and handset manufacturers worldwide.

Commenting on the initiative, Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman and CEO of ROK, said, "While we have our own in-house team of application developers, we have always welcomed new ideas from outside the company and, given the increased difficulty in fund-raising via the money markets at present, we believe now is the time to formalize a system where the best innovators in the development space can easily contact us."

ROK has been awarded 5 patents for its technologies to date and has filed a further 40 patent applications.

"We're telling developers that if they have an idea for a new mobile product or service, we'd love to hear from them and we look forward to supporting the best new ideas, going forward," added Kendrick.
