Vivanco continues on its stable course to profitable results: Preliminary
figures show Vivanco posting distinctly improved, but at the
very least break-even operating results (EBITDA) as compared to the prior
year

According to preliminary figures released before completion of the audit of
the annual financial statements, the Group ended fiscal year 2008 with an
at least break-even EBITDA, in contrast to the significantly negative
EBITDA of EUR -4.3 million reported in 2007. This is due primarily to the
substantially better quality of the sales revenues compared with those of
the prior year, the long-term improvement in the cost structure and the
restructuring of the French company. Despite distinct declines in consumer
confidence and the weaker economic climate in several major European
countries, the sales trend in the last quarter of 2008 was nonetheless
overall satisfactory. Gross profits for the fiscal year could be maintained
at the same level as in the prior year, although consolidated sales
revenues were slightly less than in the prior year. The improvement in
operating results is particularly positive against the background of the
sale leaseback transaction concerning the Ahrensburg property completed in
fiscal year 2007 and the consequent higher related rental expense.

The Companys financial stability has also benefited from a distinct
improvement in the financing conditions offered by its corporate bank as
well as from a reduction in borrowed funds.

Following this distinct improvement in 2008 results, Vivanco is planning on
continuing its current strategy in 2009 and looking forward to an even more
profitable year.
