Munich/ Grasbrunn, January 29, 2009  According to the preliminary figures,
Wirecard AG managed to achieve a consistently positive business development
for fiscal 2008.

Preliminary consolidated annual sales revenues were up by 47 percent, from
EUR 134.2 million to EUR 196.8 million. Earnings before interest and taxes
(EBIT) increased by approximately 48 percent year-on-year, from EUR 33.1
million to EUR 49 million. Earnings include approximately EUR 1.5 million
in one-time extraordinary expenditures.
In the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008, consolidated sales amounted to EUR
55.7 million (Q4 2007: EUR 40.4 million). Preliminary earnings before
interest and taxes (EBIT) were up by 31 percent in this period, from EUR
10.5 million (Q4 2008) to EUR 13.8 million, taking into account
EUR 0.5 million for one-time extraordinary expenditures.  

Despite the difficult global economic situation, the essential trends in
the eCommerce market remain intact. Among these, in particular, are the
shift of offline purchases to the Internet and the increased outsourcing of
electronic payment processing services to specialist service providers.

Accordingly, the Management Board of Wirecard AG forecasts EBIT growth of
10 to 25 percent for fiscal 2009, taking account of all overall economic
risks.

All results are preliminary. The consolidated annual financial statements
for fiscal 2008 will be published on April 8, 2009.
