On January 23, 2009, Microsoft announced an update to its Microsoft
Business Intelligence roadmap which revealed that their planning solution,
PerformancePoint Server 2007, will no longer be a standalone item on their
price list after April 1, 2009, and that they will not make further
investments in the solution after mid-2009. According to media reports,
Microsoft will now continue to offer planning and reporting capabilities
through its Microsoft Dynamics business unit, via legacy Forecaster and FRx
products that were previously being phased out.
The rescue package is designed to provide Microsoft PerformancePoint, FRx,
and Forecaster customers an easy and affordable migration path away from
discontinued and under-invested products, and to the powerful, innovative,

contract, Adaptive Planning's solution is available for as little as $150
per seat per year, which can be less than the annual cost of maintenance
for existing PerformancePoint customers. In addition, because the solution
is available as an on-demand application, it can be deployed rapidly, with
implementations averaging just two weeks of consulting.
